Very good points by both parties...

Night Owl

It is 4:44 a.m on the west coast and Im still up... thinking to myself if it's natural for me to be up working on my music this late. I feel as if I should be forcing myself to sleep because I need rest. Then I think about Ryan Leslie.... he is still up. He is in a much better place in his career and he isn't resting. He is one of the harder working producers in know (not personally).

Should I be relaxed about my work? What are the guidelines to success? ... I begin to think about my father and wonder how many nights were spent in the library studying for law school? How much did he sacrifice to be successful? ...In the end thats what we want, right... for all this (dedication, long nights, longer days) to mean something....

Im driven not by thoughts of money, but of accomplishment... I can look in the mirror and say one day 'I finished what I started'. It might had not gone the way I planned it, but I held on and I did it....

Right now, it's about 8 a.m. back home. My father will be getting up for work soon. Similar routine that was done 24 hrs ago will be done again today. But he can look in the mirror this mourning and say ... He did it...... Thats why I'M still up

Welcome

Thank you for checking my blog out... Your probably wondering what exactly this blog will be about, so am I lol. Im open to any convo and topics.

About myself... Im just a kid moving along in his career to success. Im hoping to see my friends there as well. My music background isn't much different then the typical story that youv'e heard a hundred times. You know, the whole 'I have been doing music since I was a child... and grew up in the church choir' speech. Truthfully, I didn't start taking music seriously until about 4 years ago, and now I'm pushing forward full steam.

I remember selling my first beat for only $25 to a local rapper named "Ready" haha.... I was toooooooo excited... I don't know what the overwhelming feeling was that came over me at that moment. It might have been the thought that I gained some respect from my peers for my craft... It could have been the thought someone believed that my music was good enough to invest in... Whatever it was, I felt good that I had turned a hobby into something more...

~Sidebar: The struggles in believe in life can make, break, and rebuild a person. I have been at all ends of the spectrum just like everyone else. I also believe that the journey is the best part; Thank You Mom;-)

Right now.... Im in a place where things are looking up and Im still free to explore different avenues in music and life. I hope in your life that you find happiness and joy in what you do and who you are.

May God be with you... Shout to my Cuz Alex, keep up the hard work.

Movin Forward

Good day people. Hoping everyone had a good 4th and spent time with the people you love. Just getting up for the day and looking forward to the future. Lately I have been having my moments of frustration, doubt, and confusion... the typical emotions people go through when pursuing a dream.... the constant headache, disappointments,  and bullsh*t of the game... haha. You got to "love the grind" like my boy Scotty always said.
So with that in mind, it's apparent that no matter what your striving for there are going to be obstacles constantly in your way. Whether it be people, situations, or yourself... stay focused on what you set out to do. It's so easy to become side tracked from your dream.

Friendship

I was just getting up for the day and something hit me... I miss the hell out of my people back east. I miss my friends, family, and even co-workers... and I never get home sick. It became apparent to me that the friendships that we have are not something to take for granted. I can recall when my mother told me that a best friend is a rarity, especially one you can truly trust.
I didn't really understand at the time. I thought to myself that making friends was an easy thing. Now more then ever I see that I was wrong. We make acquaintances everyday and make the mistake of investing friendship into them. But when the time comes to test that relationship, they fall short.  Not all cases are the same but in a world that has a "what you can do for me" attitude, its hard to weed~out the fake from the real....
A true friend is someone that is there thick~n~thin, no matter what. Someone you can count on, and to give it to you straight. Telling you about yourself whether you want to hear it or not, but saying it only to make you better (constructive criticism). Making sure your still alright even if you 3,000 miles away.
 lol....
To all my true friends, you know who you are, I miss you and love you (no homo) hahaha

One Of The Craziest Weekend I've Ever Had...

Let me start off by saying it's been a long weekend... My Home Girl Serena came out to visit, check out the LA scene... Now, before I go into this story let me give you some background about the characters in this dramatic story..lol.

-Serena & Carla are sisters from back East.
-Carla's friend named Andrea lives in N. Hollywood, CA.
-Andrea "INVITED" both Serena & Carla to stay with her while they visited Cali.
-Andrea's sister and friend were coming out the same dates as well.
(As you can tell from the introduction, this tale will be one of suspense and drama)

Day 1
Serena & Carla arrive at LAX and I'm excited to pick them up. The 'Plan' was to pick them up and take them to Andrea's house to drop off their stuff...that didn't work out. Andrea took off to the beach the day the girls were coming in. We decided to grab a bite to eat and catch up in the meantime while we waited for Andrea to get back. Some how along the way to lunch one of my brakes decide to FALL OFF of my car without warning. Couldn't believe it....
4 hours later we got sick of waiting for Andrea and decided to go to the beach and meet up with her. While on the beach, I get the news that not only did Ed Macmahon and Farrah Fawcett die but the 'King of Pop' passed. We eventually concluded the night with dinner and I dropped the ladies off at Andrea's place.

Day 2
My brakes started smoking on the way home last night so in the mourning I took my car to Pep Boys to get the problem fixed. Come to find out that the problem was $700.... awesome. While my car was getting worked on I get a call from Serena that Andrea had left them somewhere in Hollywood at the salon... She just took off leaving them with no way off getting around or back to Andrea's apartment.... Serena is pissed and Carla is confused, this is supposed to be her best friend. Carla calls the girl to find out how they are going to get back to the house. She says "I'm about a 30 minutes away so why don't you get a cab or get Vaughn to pick you up." Now, I would have picked them up in a heartbeat but It would have taken me an hour to get there plus my car was still in the shop. So eventually Andrea gets off her ass and picks up the girls and 1hr and 30 mins later.
I don't get my car back for about for about another 2 hours and I'm trying to get to LA from Aliso Viejo around 4pm. If you know about Cali traffic, you know this hour drive became a 2 hour drive. While in traffic I get a call from Serena that they need to wait outside for me to get there, huh? ....I guess Andrea is leaving with her sis and friend and they can't wait in the house. This just can't get any better... So I finally get there around 8 and the Serena & Carla are outside with their suite cases. We deceided that it would probably better if we all got a hotel room together just insure that they had a place to sleep for the night. We found a Best Western and called it a night.

Day 3
We wake up and hit the Hollywood Blvd. Boy, did we have a great time. We hit the wax museum, Serena got to take pix with Marilyn Monroe's star, we got to see Michael's as well, we also caught a showing of Transformers. All in all, it was a good day. No problems except for trying to get into the club "My House". We saw THE GAME, NIPSY HUSSLE, RON ARTEST, and Serena almost fainted when DEREK LUKE said hi to her... lol. We spent another night at the hotel

Day 4
The next mourning Andrea decides to come by to pick up the girls and head to Laguna Beach. While they hit the beach me and my boy Young Cee headed back to our house and meet up with them later.
We met back up with the girls around 7 and hit P.F. Changs. We hit the Blvd one more time to get a couple more souvenirs and memories. NOW, this is the juicy part of the whole story so keep up.
On our way back to Andrea's house Carla gets a text from Andrea. The text said "Penny (her dog) fell down the stairs and had a seizure. Im at the animal hospital now and they don't know what's going to happen to Penny."....
Sooooo... we feel bad of course and we head to a Denny's to kill time while Andrea took care of Penny. We grabbed a byte to eat even though none of us were hungry and shared a few laughs. It was around 1 when we thought about grabbing a hotel again but it was best to get back to Andrea's house because the girls luggage was there. So we wait outside of this girls to hear a call back from this girl.... and we wait... and then 1:30 am roles around and my boy Young Cee notices that the window to Andrea's apartment keep changing colors like a TV is on... Serena goes upstairs to check, just to make sure. Come to find out this (Female Dog) is upstairs sleep and her excuse was shefell asleep after coming back from the hospital. She also said that they hept Penny overnight for further testing. The punch line is the dog was under the sheet laying in the bed...... What a great friend right.....

Julia & Mark Tie the Knot

I'd like to give a special shout out to 2 happy people right now. They are probably on there way to Hawaii or some exotic place. Of course I'm talking about my high school buddies Mark & Julia. The tied the knot this weekend and I know I couldn't be there (Truly sorry) but I wish you guys all the love and happiness that 2 people could have for each other. "I always knew you liked Mark!" lol.

The even had Guy McCaslin come out to wed the couple, nice touch;-)

Just waking up this mourning feeling good. Picking up my home girl later tonight from LAX. She has been dyeing to get out here. I should be going to see Transformers at some point today but I feel like it a relax day.

About business- Gotta work on a remix for Flo-rida and Nelly "Jump". Give me some feedback about what do you think about the ORIGINAL song. Do you like the song? What don't you like about the song?

Having flashbacks of my first trip to Vegas with the
fam... Big Will and Sambo in front of the fountain
in Caesars Palace. We had a blast, especially the last day.
We all got hammered (thanx Father), I become the dancing queen and gave a lap dance to everyone around us. Will had the spins and could barely stand, yet alone speek, and Sam couldn't stop talking. He was giggling his way through the whole lobby to where we had lunch..... good times.
